TAX POLICY * Switzerland - Court over rules HGV levy increase
Zurich,Switzerland -HGV UK -November 10 2009: -- A Swiss Court has over ruled an increase in road freight tax for HGVs, prompting criticism from the country’s Ministry of Transport and and environmental groups... The levy is part of a compromise agreement with the European Union, which allows 40-tonne lorries on Swiss roads... The Federal Administrative Court upheld a complaint by the Swiss Road Hauliers’ Association against the government’s 2008 decision to raise the tax to a maximum of SFr325 per year.
