OVER-CHARGING * Kuwait - Agility faces investigation by US Department of Justice


Kuwait -Transport Intelligence, by Thomas Cullen -23 Nov 2009: -- Agility's ascent into the top tier of global logistics companies has been remarkably smooth as well as fast. However the Kuwaiti-based company may have hit its first obstacle as it is sucked into the investigations around alleged over-charging in American military contracts – allegations which it vehemently denies... The United States armed forces have become key customers for Agility... What is more immediately of concern is the suspension of new business with the US Department of Defence that has been applied to the company whilst the cases are going through the courts. Agility has been very successful in winning business for logistics for the US military in both Iraq and Afghanistan... The problem of these allegations should not be exaggerated. Many large corporations have to face these issues at some stage. However they will test the diplomatic ability of the company's Chairman, Tarek Sultan, if Agility is to retain its strategic direction...
