* USA - Heavy Truck Orders Jump in September. Preliminary report shows first expansion in more than a year

Santa Fe Springs,CAL,USA -The Journal of Commerce, by Thomas L. Gallagher -Oct 2, 2009: -- Orders for new heavy duty trucks jumped in September in the first expansion in more than a year, according to a preliminary report from FTR Associates... Class 8 net orders for all major North American OEMs totaled 10,817 units in September. Year to date orders through September are 5.2 percent ahead of the same period in 2008, reflecting the first year over year increase since June 2008. The figure includes orders for the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Exports. September was the fourth consecutive month that orders have shown a month over month increase. Order activity for September represents an annualized rate of 129,804... Final data for September will be available from FTR later in the month as part of their North American Commercial Truck & Trailer Outlook... * Russia - Truck maker KamAZ resumes production

Moscow,Russia -RIA Novosti -October 5, 2009: -- Russia's largest truck maker, KamAZ, restarted its main assembly line on Monday after a freeze since September 29, the company's PR department said... The ongoing global financial crisis has caused a slump in world demand for vehicles. The assembly line at the Volga-based truck producer was halted to clear overstock due to low sales... KamAZ is the world's 11th largest truck maker and the eighth largest producer of diesel engines globally. KamAZ has 96 plants in Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, and Ethiopia... * Germany - Mitsubishi Fuso trucks enter Puerto Rican market

Stuttgart,Germany -Business Week -5 Oct 2009: -- German automaker Daimler AG said Monday its Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation subsidiary would enter the Puerto Rican market with a sales and service agreement with Guaraguao Truck Sales in Bayamon, Puerto Rico... The Stuttgart-based company, the world's largest truckmaker, said its Japanese unit would export trucks from Japan to Puerto Rico through Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America... * Ukraine - Sweden's Scania to retain heavy truck market share at 7 percent in 2010

Kiev,Ukraine -Interfax -4 Oct 2009: -- Sweden's Scania, one of the largest international heavy truck producers, in 2010 plans to retain its share of the Ukrainian heavy truck market at no less than 7%, while this year the share would be also 7% ... Scania Ukraine commercial director, Andriy Dallakian, said that this year the heavy truck market in Ukraine would be estimated at some 2,500 trucks, which is 4.2 times down year-over-year (10,400)...
