Russian rail freight subsidiary to move containers across Asia
Berlin,Germany -The Journal of Commerce, by Thomas L. Gallagher -Sep 29, 2009: -- DB Schenker and TransContainer are planning a joint container hub in Riga, the capital of Latvia on the Baltic Sea... The transshipment center at the DB Schenker Logistics Park aims to move container traffic more efficiently between the Scandinavian and Baltic countries and Russia, central Europe and the central Asian states. Multimodal international transportation via Riga is expected to shift more containers to rail in a targeted fashion...
