* Sweden - Volvo showcases tomorrow’s trucks
Stockholm,Sweden -HGV UK -September 9, 2009: -- Volvo Trucks is displaying several exciting next-generation projects at its stand at ITS, the World Congress for Intelligent Transport Systems and Transport services to be held at the Stockholmsmässan in Stockholm from September 21-25th 2009... Among its exhibits are ‘thinking’ trucks that automatically handle some of the routine aspects of driving, communicate with other vehicles on the road and, if necessary, step in automatically in critical situations:
* Automatic driver assistance
* Vehicles that talk with one another
* Monitoring builds up new knowledge
* Volvo launches new 'family-size' FH Globetrotter
Stockholm,Sweden -Biglorryblog (UK) -September 15, 2009: ... Volvo have come up with a new 'family saloon' version of the FH Globetrotter cab with no less than four seats in it ... How much fun will that be eh? No more morning balancing Tarquin and Tiffinay on the bunk, now they can be all nicely-strapped in safely with a proper seat of their own... The real story behind the aforementioned four-seater is that Volvo's has now got not one but two specially-developed 'CPC Driver Training Vehicles' - here they are above - which can noth legally seat four people each and come equipped with desks, Bluetooth 'phones, DVD players and DVBT-TV plus USB monitors with PC links allowing them to be used when training away from the Warwick facility...
