REGULATIONS * Ireland - Policy change on transport managers
Dublin,Ireland -HGV Ireland -4 Sept 2009: -- The Irish Department of Transport has announced a policy change that will allow road haulage companies with 50 vehicles or less to reduce their operational costs by employing a Transport Manager on a part time rather than a full time basis... Up to now all haulage companies, regardless of their size, had to employ a full time Transport Manager to manage their operations - even if the company only had for example one truck. This decision will allow Ireland to comply with forthcoming new EU regulations in this area... A detailed information note on these changes will be now be issued to all road Transport Operators...
