Cobra said it partnered with TruckDown Info International and ProMiles Software Development to develop the database that includes listings of travel centers, fueling stations, heavy-duty towing services, truck-repair shops, truck-friendly hotels, weigh scales, etc... The new personal navigation device (PND) also offers routing specifically aimed at trucks whose access to certain roads may be restricted... * UK - Aero trailers get boost in Ricardo report
UK -Road Transport, by Dominic Perry -22 July 2009: -- Aerodynamic trailers, like Don-Bur's Teardrop and slope-fronted double-decks, have received a massive boost after a DfT-commissioned report suggests they offer a cost-effective way of cutting CO2 emissions. The report from consultancy Ricardo, published last week, will be used to inform the government's low carbon transport strategy and may encourage the government to incentivise the uptake of different technologies or introduce new training programmes...
