Guelph,ONT,CAN -Today's Trucking -11 June 2009: -- MacKinnon Transport has come a long way since Leslie MacKinnon purchased his first used straight-truck in June 1929 to haul livestock and farm supplies... Leslie and his wife Stella ran it for 17 years as a one truck company with 125 small customers. But the company really took off in 1946 when it hauled its first load of Armco Drainage products. By the late 1950’s Armco products made up almost 100 percent of MacKinnon's business and led the trucker to relocate near Armco's headquarters in Guelph... This month, the Guelph, Ont.-based truckload carrier is celebrating its 80th anniversary...
