* Kenworth garners EPA award
USA -Fleet Owner -May 15, 2009: -- Kenworth Truck Co. has been honored by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2008 Clean Air Excellence Award... The company said it is the first truck manufacturer to win the honor since the inception of the awards in 2000... The award recognizes Kenworth's environmental efforts with its T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 diesel-electric hybrids, T800 liquefied natural gas tractors and its Clean Power no-idle system... * Pete 386 Hybrid offers Dometic a/c
USA -Fleet Owner -May 15, 2009: -- Dometic's air conditioning systems are now available as factory-installed options on Peterbilt Model 386 Hybrid Electric (HE) trucks, according to the OEM... The diesel-electric hybrids, developed with Eaton Corp., will offer Dometic's 7,000-BTU system, which includes an external condensing unit and compact compressor/evaporator/blower unit. The system, powered by lithium ion batteries in the Eaton electric drive system, includes reusable pre-charged refrigerant line sets on both the inside and outside units... * Navistar inks deal with OEConnection
USA -Fleet Owner -May 15, 2009: -- Parts inventory and customer repairs will be quicker thanks to Navistar's decision to implement OEConnection's supply chain and intelligence tools, the truck OEM said... OEConnection's online parts sourcing and idle inventory reduction tools will help Navistar's 280 International North American dealerships shorten part-cycle times by allowing them to view each others' stock in real time and pull the necessary parts from the supply chain as needed, reducing back orders...
