Werner Enterprises Thinks Recession Has Bottomed Out

Omaha,NEB,USA -KETV -May 14, 2009: -- A local trucking company said that despite a tough first quarter, it sees signs that the economy may be starting to improve... Many truckers have said it’s the worst economic downturn they’ve ever experienced... Walls has been driving for 40 years and said business has been the slowest he’s ever seen... “It’s been slow, but it’s picking up,” said driver Gary Walls. “It’s looking a little better.”.. Trucking company Werner Enterprises has said the same thing. It has had to cut its fleet by four percent in the first three months of the year and said it had a 23 percent drop in revenue over a recent 12-month period... Werner Chief Operating Officer Derek Leathers , thinks the downturn has bottomed out and is starting to turn around... Still, he said better times for his company might still be a few months away...



* Swift opts for Transflo Express

Swift Transportation has become the latest fleet to adopt Pegasus TransTech’s Transflo Express scanning services. Transflo speeds cash flow, reduces costs and increases driver efficiency in transmitting delivery documents, according to Pegasus. Drivers simply hand over their documents for scanning to a fuel desk attendant at one of more than 500 truckstop locations nationwide. The attendant scans and delivers the documents to the appropriate contact at fleet headquarters...
