Melbourne,Australia -ATN -12 March 2009: -- Logistics provider CRT Group has jumped on the Euro 5 bandwagon, becoming one of a handful of transporters to acquire the latest-spec greener engines... CRT says it has taken delivery of two Volvo FM480s with Euro 5-compliant engines, with another eight on order... CEO Cameron Dunn says the company, now owned by Queensland Rail, has a 20-year relationship with Volvo... He says moving to Euro 5 ahead of compulsory standards demonstrates environmental responsibility to customers...
* USA - AT&T Boosts Alternative Fuels - Company to spend $565 million on 15,000 CNG, hybrid vehicles
USA -The Journal of Commerce Online, by William B. Cassidy -Mar 12, 2009: -- Telecommunications giant AT&T will spend up to $565 million on 15,000 trucks and cars powered by compressed natural gas, a step hailed as the largest corporate commitment to CNG-powered vehicles to date in the United States... The CNG commitment represents a big leap in AT&T’s use of alternative fuels, and it may boost interest in increased use of domestic natural gas as an over-the-road fuel among freight truck and service-vehicle fleet operators nationwide...
