The SunTruck is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric engine. While running on diesel, the emphasis has been made on fuel efficiency and power at the same time. And while running on diesel, the truck generates electricity that is used to power onboard electronics and a lithium-ion battery pack. After dropping the load, the electric engine can be selected for a zero-emission ride. Electricity in this case is harnessed by solar cells mounted on a semitrailer...
