* Navistar optimistic about Ford dispute

Detroit,MICH,USA -Bloomberg News/The Detroit News -5 Jan 2009: -- Navistar International Corp. expects to resolve a dispute with Ford Motor Co. in the near future, Chief Executive Officer Daniel Ustian said. Ustian made the comment on a conference call Monday. Warrenville, Ill.-based Navistar and Dearborn-based Ford have been in a dispute related to diesel engines Navistar supplies to Ford for powering the automaker's large pickup trucks...


* Investors Get Navistar Struck

New York,NY,USA -Forbes, by Carl Gutierrez -5 Jan 2009: -- The truck maker surprises the market with promises of gains in 2010, hours after a lukewarm outlook for 2009... Navistar International flipped a sour outlook for investors on Monday after the truck maker told them about its high hopes for the market in 2010... Navistar expects some reprieve, though, from last year's difficulties. Despite the lower than expected earnings outlook, the Warrenville, Ill.-based firm is predicting a slight boost in sales of its school buses and heavy-duty trucks. In the coming year, it expects sales volume in the United States and Canada of class 6 to class 8 trucks and school buses to range from 244,000 to 256,000. The company said industry volumes totaled 244,100 in fiscal 2008...


* Isuzu to go with SCR for 2010

Irvine,Cal,USA -Today's Trucking (CAN) -5 Jan 2009: -- Isuzu Commercial Truck of America announced that it intends to use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to achieve the 2010 standards for emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by diesel engines... SCR is an aftertreatment technology that involves injecting a water-based solution containing urea into the hot exhaust stream of an engine... The new technology will be used in Isuzu engines sold in its trucks in the U.S. under the Isuzu, Chevrolet and GMC trademarks...
