FUEL TROUBLES * USA - Diesel price gap persistent

Lower prices help trucking firms, but worldwide demand for diesel is growing

Tulsa World, by KYLE ARNOLD -December 3, 2008:  --   Oklahoma trucking companies are cruising as diesel fuel prices have fallen by nearly $2.20 a gallon since July...   But the tease of gasoline prices that are some 80 cents cheaper is a constant reminder of the growing worldwide demand for diesel...   On Tuesday, with crude oil futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange closing below $47 a barrel, many Tulsa stations had regular-grade gasoline priced at $1.51 a gallon. But diesel is at $2.32 a gallon, and industry analysts say the number is unlikely to go much lower...
