TRUCKING TO SHUT DOWN * USA - Closing Adelanto yard: Ninety drivers could be out of work

Adelanto, California USA -Trading Markets -October 23, 2008: -- Driver Fred Beavers said he turned in his keys on Wednesday to the Adelanto branch of Gemini Traffic Sales Inc., which transports foods and pharmaceutical products coast to coast... "I was notified today that if I want to continue to work with Gemini, I'd have to work on the East Coast for five weeks and then I'd have a week off," Beavers said. "The drivers are quitting because of this. We all live out here in California and we're not going to do that"... The Adelanto-based drivers do need to commit to working five weeks a time if they want to continue working for the company, Gemini Traffic Sales Vice President of Operations Ron Williams said... Gemini Traffic Sales is also shutting down its Georgia and Texas branches , but only California- and Texasbased drivers face the choice between working for five weeks at a time in or quitting, Williams said...
