Truck Owners Appeal * TANZANIA - Against restrictions in their operations
Dar es Salaam,United Republic of Tanzania -IPPmedia, by Perege Gumbo -20 Oct 2008: -- The Tanzania Truck Owners Association (TATOA) has appealed to the government to strike off a regulation restricting its members from selling outside Tanzania, more than 20 per cent of the total oil they sold internally... The appeal was made by TATOA Secretary General Zacharia Hans Poppe before the Parliamentary Committees of Finance and Economic Affairs, Energy and minerals and that of Infrastructure Development in Dar es Salaam over the weekend. The association said the regulation frustrated efforts being made to market the Dar es Salaam Port. Appealing to the committees to listen to their grievances, TATOA said Dar es Salaam Port was shunned by importers and exporters from neighbouring countries, thereby losing businesses and revenue...
