Washington,DC,USA - Land Line Magazine -September 30, 2008: -- As fuel shortages continue to plague the Southeast, officials with the U.S. Department of Energy said it may be another “week or two” before production is at full capacity again... That’s because more than 57 percent of crude oil and nearly 53 percent of natural gas production in the Gulf Coast region remains “shut in” following storm damage caused by hurricanes Ike and Gustav... Healy Baumgardner, DOE press secretary, told Land Line on Tuesday, Sept. 30, that as refineries get back to full production and restoration efforts continue to progress in the Gulf region, “the market will balance”...
