Stockholm,Sweden -Reuters -Sep 17, 2008: -- World No.2 truck maker Volvo said on Wednesday deliveries of its trucks rose 4 percent year-on-year in August as increased shipments in Asia offset declines in Europe and North America... Volvo, which sells trucks under the Renault, Nissan Diesel and Mack brands as well as its own name, said in a statement deliveries in its biggest market, Europe, fell 10 percent while they fell 18 percent in North America... Volvo said shipments in August of its trucks fell 17 percent year-on-year in western Europe...
* Brazil - Cummins Plans to Invest $100 Million in
USA -Transport Topics -15 Sept 2008: -- Cummins Inc., the maker of more than one third of North America’s heavy-duty truck engines, plans to invest another $100 million in Brazil during the next four years to meet higher demand in that country, Bloomberg reported... Cummins has invested $100 million in Brazil since 2004 to boost the output of engines and generators by 25%... Cummins expects to sell 85,000 engines this year in Brazil, a 31% increase from last year, Bloomberg said...
