Minneapolis,MINN,USA -Land Line Magazine -September 16, 2008: -- Just 13 months after the collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis, officials dedicated a new span and expect to open it to traffic three months ahead of schedule on Thursday, Sept. 18... A dedication ceremony of the new $234 million structure on Monday, Sept. 15, doubled as a memorial for the 13 who lost their lives in the collapse Aug. 1, 2007... “Thirteen months ago, Minnesota experienced a tragedy of historic proportions,” Gov. Tim Pawlenty stated during the ceremony... Pawlenty and others revealed the design of a privately funded memorial to be constructed nearby...
