AWARD * Canada - Trucker celebrates 17 accident-free years
Vancouver,BC,Canada -The Vancouver Sun, by Gerry Bellett -September 17, 2008: -- In a perfect world, every one of the province's truck drivers would have driving records like Surrey's Julius Swecera, whose combination of good fortune and skill has protected him from any kind of driving accident for the past 17 years... If his record was normal, then WorkSafeBC's columns of figures tallying up the trucking industry's dead and injured would show nice round zeros at the end... His record as a driver is exemplary, but in general, the rate of accidents in the trucking industry has shown no sign of abating in recent years...
