Washington,DC,USA -Automotivce World (UK) (Subscription) -2 June 2008: -- The US Senate is considering a bill that would raise vehicle weight limits from 80,000 pounds (36.28 tonnes) to 100,000 pounds (45.36 tonnes) on all US federal highways, whenever the price of diesel rises above US$3.50 per gallon... At present, 100,000-pound trucks are allowed to travel on highways in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York, and in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec, as well as on the tolled 109-mile long I-95 Maine...
