TRUCKERS' PARADE * New Zealand - Big rigs strike happy note in truck parade

Gore,New Zealand -The Southland Times -2 June 2008: -- Chris Foot did an overnight run from Dunedin to Christchurch, dropped freight at Invercargill then made his way to Gore to win the King Rig title in the annual trucking parade on Saturday... Trucking parade spokesman Graham McCauley said such was the standard of care Mr Foot took of his rig, that it took little time for it to be polished up for the parade... The late afternoon parade had more than 20 trucks in the lineup but the cool weather and rain meant only a small crowd lined the street to view them... Major trucking companies were represented along with family-owned businesses and rural firms... Included in the lineup was: Fonterra, Tulloch Transport, Allied Concrete, Northern Southland Transport, Clinton Waipahi Holdings Ltd and Johnstone Truck Ltd...(Photos by DIANE BISHOP - 1) · TRUCKIES ENVY: Green machines making their way down Gore's Main St. - 2) · BIG RED: "Elegant Force" is followed by an Allied Concrete vehicle)
