TRUCKMAKERS' NEWS * France - Renault Trucks launches its new Magnum
Lyon,France -Aderly Business news -17 June 2008: -- The Lyon-based heavy truck maker Renault Trucks is launching a new version of its high-end truck for the long-haul market, the Magnum. With this new vehicle, Renault Trucks asserts its position in the long-haul market (heavy trucks weighing more than 16 tons), which is experiencing strong growth in Europe, with a 25% rise between 2006 and 2007... The Magnum, a truck that is imposing a whole new standard for comfort, design and efficiency for long-distance vehicles, has made big efforts in terms of fuel efficiency, amongst other things. The Optifuel solution, optimized by the addition of a new axle, a new automatic gearbox and the latest generation of Michelin tires, can effectively reduce consumption by nearly 10%. Thanks to the Magnum and to the pace of manufacturing having increased by one third in the space of one year, Renault Trucks should deliver around 10,000 Magnums and 22,000 Premiums in 2008, and is aiming for a significant rise in overall sales...
