ENGINES' MANUFACTURER * USA - Cummins profit misses, shares dip
Chicago,Ill,USA -Reuters, by James B. Kelleher -February 1, 2008: -- Cummins Inc, a U.S. maker of engines and power generators, reported disappointing earnings for the final quarter of 2007 on Friday as a sharp drop in demand for its diesel powerplants from makers of both large transport trucks and smaller pickups weighed on results... The company also predicted that 2008 would be another slow year in the key North American heavy-duty truck market... Shares fell as much as 6 percent...
