AWARD * USA - Local truck driver honored for 29 years of safe driving
Anderson, IN ,USA -The Herald Bulletin, by KAYLEY FRANK -18 Fewb 2008: -- It was 1985, and Alan Adams was driving home after making a delivery to Seattle. He was coming into Chicago — headed east on Interstate 80 — and was approaching the exit ramp where another highway split from the interstate... For Adams, who has been driving a truck for just short of 30 years, close shaves like this one are nothing new... Although he’s no stranger to the dangers of life on the road, during the years he’s been a trucker, he’s been fortunate enough to escape them... Recently, Adams was recognized by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association for 29 years of accident-free driving — a feat that only a few OOIDA members were able to claim this year...
