COLD WEATHER * Canada - Trucking On the Ice Road
Ever had that sinking feeling?
London,UK -Biglorryblog -4 Dec 2007: -- There are quite a few places that Biglorryblog would rather not drive a truck but the Ice Road in Canada which runs from Yellowknife to the isolated mining communities in the North West territories across a number of frozen lakes (well frozen enough to drive an artic across them for three months of the year) is probably at the top of my list---I wouldn't do it for all the tea in China, no matter how much you paid me...
Yet there are plenty of brave souls who will and if you want to find out more then I recommend the 'Ice Roads' DVD available from Old Pond Publishing priced £14.95... And when you're out on the Ice Road you probably don't want to find that the ice is not as thick as you thought...as the driver of the above rig must have discovered... I'm not quite sure is the thing on the back of the trailer is the load--or a floatation tank! And if you need to know what time of the year it's safe to drive on the ice reads the signs! This is about a 9.25 minute preview of the actual dvd that is now being sold on the History Channel) & (Thanks for the picture to Gerald Woodgate at Transport News Network)
