Cargo Fees * USA - L.A.-Long Beach Would Fund Clean Trucks Program
Long Beach,CA,USA -The Cunningham Report -15 Dec 2007: -- The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles are poised this coming week to approve a cargo fee to raise $1.6 billion to help pay for replacing and or retrofitting some 16,800 diesel trucks in regular port drayage service... The Port of Long Beach commissioners are due to vote on the $35-per-TEU fee on Monday. Their Port of Los Angeles counterparts are expected to follow suit on Thursday... The fee is contained in a proposed tariff amendment and is one of several key components of the ports' Clean Trucks Program under the ports' joint Clean Air Action Plan...
