Garden View,South Africa -Engineering News (press release), by Irma Venter -16 Nov 07: -- South Africa is big news to Nissan Diesel... The numbers support the assertion by the Japanese executive... Nissan Diesel produces about 40 000 trucks a year. Of these, about 20 000 are exported, with 4 000 units – or a healthy 20% – going to South Africa in kit form... These units are assembled by Nissan Diesel South Africa at its Rosslyn plant... In fact, says NDSA vice-president: operations Rory Schulz, 2007 sales in South Africa should reach 4 800 units, significantly up from last year’s 3 700 vehicles...
