A federal appeals court in California has rejected the Bush administration’s fuel-economy standards for pickup trucks, minivans and SUVs
CAL,USA -Associated Press /Land Line Magazine -November 16, 2007: -- The ruling stated that the standards aren’t tough enough because regulators failed to take into account the impact of tailpipe emissions that contribute to climate change... Four environmental groups and 13 cities and states, including California, had sought the ruling.
Under the administration’s standards the average fuel economy of pickups, minivans and SUVs would only have to improve by one mile per gallon by 2010...
