MARKET * USA - Lanes changing for south coast trucking

It's been about a month since the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad pulled the plug on the Coos Bay short line, and other transportation companies, most prominently trucking companies, are now feeling a small push

The Coos Bay trucking company Thomas and Sons started to notice a slow down in freight nine months ago, but is seeing business improve since the short line closure... Thomas says they're working to meet their customers current transportation needs, but it's difficult to develop a solution without knowing what will become of the railroad... And with an increasing demand for ground transportation, the cost is also on the rise... Long-term, Thomas wants to see the rail line open back up to help facilitate growth on the south coast...
