Boston,Mass,USA - The Boston Globe/UPI -16 Sept, 2007: -- ... The trucks are a major problem on Storrow Drive and Memorial Drive, parkways that flank the Charles River in Boston and Cambridge. In the 1980s, cowbells were hung across the highways to give truckers an audible warning in time to stop before hitting overpasses."Some folks are saying maybe we could put bells back on so that the truck drivers really notice the signs," Wendy Fox, a spokeswoman for the Department of Conservation and Recreation, told... Some critics suggest the cowbells could be dangerous if they become unattached and fly through windshields...
