The number of fatal truck involvements in the 11th hour of driving in 2004 increased by only two for the same period in 2003
Ann Arbor,Mich,USA -The Trucker -3 Aug 2007: -- ... According to data obtained today by The Trucker from the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI)... In 2004, the first year under the Hours of Service rules that truckers could legally drive 11 hours a day instead of 10, there were 16 reported accidents in the 11th hour of driving compared with 14 in 2003 when driving 11 hours was not legal... The data showed five fatal accidents in the 11th hour of driving in 2002...
