HOS DEBATE * USA - ATA urges federal officials to preserve current Hours of Service

In a meeting today with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), American Trucking Associations President and CEO Bill Graves advised the White House policy review office of ATA’s perspective on the July 24 court decision regarding Hours of Service rules.

Washington,DC,USA -The Trucker -16 Aug 2007: -- The ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, if made effective, would vacate the 11-hour driving time limit and the 34-hour restart provision of HOS... Similarly, FMCSA sources, as recently as Aug. 15, tell The Trucker the agency is standing by its original statement on the ruling; namely that it is evaluating the court decision before announcing the next step with regard to the HOS rules... The decision, as it stands, will take effect Sept. 14...
