Bandits * Canada - An 'epidemic' for truckers

But the violence has escalated recently as bandits target drivers in Southern Ontario; and the stakes are high, with some trucks hauling $10 million in cargo... "It's getting to be an epidemic," said David Carey, owner of Carey Leasing Ltd., a local trucking company that hauls through Ontario, Quebec and 48 states... Mark McDougall of Stolen Cargo and Equipment Tracking, a company that specializes in retrieving stolen cargo, said truckjacking and cargo theft cost the industry an estimated $2 billion a year...
