Peshawar,Pakistan -The Daily Times (Lahore,Pak) -3 Mar 2007: -- Pakistani and Afghan cargo truck owners announced on Thursday that they were going on strike from today (Friday) to protest against excesses of the Afghan government and the attitude of officials on both sides of the Durand Line. The owners also threatened to stop the supply of food, weapons and ammunition and various other commodities to NATO troops deployed in Afghanistan if there demands were not met... Pakistan-Afghanistan Transport Association (PATA) President Shakir Afridi told reporters at a press conference that more than 500 cargo trucks (22-wheeler and other vehicles) would stop operations between Pakistan and Afghanistan until “corrupt Afghan officials stopped fleecing them”...
