The officers were accused of assaulting Ramirez’ neighbor Janice Kasper, who was also a police officer...

* USA - Investigation finds unqualified cops in 30 states
USA -The Associated Press/Land Line Magazine -March 8, 2007: -- The term “rookie cop” has taken on new meaning, according to an investigation by the AP, who reported that counties and cities in at least 30 states allow newly hired officers to hit the streets with a gun and badge – but with little or no training... Some states, including Wisconsin and Mississippi, leave rookies on the street for up to two years before requiring them to attend a police academy... An untrained officer in Mississippi is being sued for $2 million for holding a gun to an unarmed student’s head, and an Illinois family won a multi-million-dollar lawsuit after an untrained rookie officer ran into an SUV during a car chase, killing the driver.
