Mar 02, 2007: -- New regulations for log truck drivers came into force yesterday... “The main objective of the new regulations is to reduce the risk of fatigue-related commercial vehicle collisions by providing drivers with the opportunity to obtain additional rest,” said Mary-Anne Arcand, spokesperson for Forestry Trucksafe, in the safety organization’s “Rumblings” publication... Part of the new regulations require truckers to keep log books, no matter how close to home they are. Log truck drivers are exempt from some of the regulations on hours worked, but all drivers will be required to fill out log books...
