Truckers may not know they have disorder
Peoria,Ill,USA -ABC Hoi19 OnLine, by Kim Carollo -Febr 04, 2007: -- A leading trucking organization says one of the biggest hazards truck drivers face isn't bad weather or other drivers -- it's falling asleep at the wheel... Their research shows says 30 to 40 percent of large truck crashes are caused by driver fatigue and sleep apnea.
And in many cases, truckers don't even know they have a sleep disorder... The Mid-West Truckers Association's vice president says he suffers from sleep apnea, and he found it's surprisingly common among truckers...
