Irish Roads * Ireland - Labour urges Govt to implement ban on 'super-trucks'

Cork,Ireland -The Evening Echo -22 Jan 2007: -- The Labour Party is criticising Minister for Transport Martin Cullen for failing to ban so-called 'super-trucks' from Irish roads... The party says the number of these trucks operating in Ireland is on the increase and most don not fit in the Dublin Port Tunnel... Labour TD Roisin Shorthall says the Government promised to introduce a ban on such vehicles four years ago, but nothing has yet been imposed... She is demanding that Mr Cullen act on that promise and ensure that these large trucks cannot use residential streets...
