Chaos - India - On Daitary expressway

KENDRAPARA,Jajpur,India -The Statesman News Service (Kolkata) -Aug. 13, 2006: -- A state of utter confusion and disorder continues to prevail on the Paradip-Daitary expressway for past 72 hours even as stranded ore-laden lorries struggle to move due to poor traffic management. The vehicular traffic movement was thrown out of gear since Friday and there are over 10,000 lorries stranded right from the outskirts of Paradip port to Chandikhole on the national highway, said police officers... Chaos reigns in the area... This confusing and disorganised traffic problem has mainly arisen due to complete absence of traffic control mechanism at the truck terminal point and also at the various mining points. From Keonjhar and Jajpur mines, thousands of loaded trucks are allowed to make their way to Paradip at the same time. This is creating the dishevel. Nobody is there to regulate the cargo carriers in Jajpur district...
