LANSING, Mich.,USA -The Detroit News/AP -8 July 206: -- Consumers will have incentives to buy ethanol blends of gasoline under legislation signed Friday by Gov. Jennifer Granholm... One bill would lower the state tax on each gallon of ethanol-blended fuel to 12 cents, down from the 19 cents figured into a gallon of regular gas... Buying fuel blended with at least 70 percent ethanol could save the average driver about $35 in taxes each year... The Legislature is setting aside $2.5 million to finance the gas tax cut for up to 10 years. The legislation also lowers the tax on biodiesel fuel from 15 cents per gallon to 12, and offers grants to station owners who want to sell E85 and biodiesel fuel...
