Orders - USA - Carriers Must Separate Diesel by Sulfur Content

USA - Transport Topics, by Andrea Fischer -Apr 17, 2006: -- Beginning June 1, trucking companies that use in-house central refueling facilities will be required to label their diesel pumps as either ultra-low-sulfur diesel or low-sulfur diesel, said the Environmental Protection Agency... Carriers that buy their own fuel in bulk will be required to segregate ULSD — which must contain no more than 15 parts per million of sulfur — from low-sulfur diesel, which contains anywhere from 16 ppm to 500 ppm of sulfur... ULSD is needed for lower-emission 2007-model truck engines to run properly...
