Market - Iran - Renault wins $20m bid, heavy trucks to follow
TEHRAN,Iran -MNA -Mar. 12, 2006: -- Renault Truck Company won the international bid held by the World Bank (WB) for reconstruction of Iran’s quake-stricken regions. The L/C is opened and the $20m-contract will offer 280 additional trucks of 4x6 and 2x4 kinds. The initial 50, at Rls.820m each, are about Rls.200m cheaper than comparable Volvo and MB models, sales manager of Renault trucks in Iran Alizadeh indicated... Aria Diesel Company is in charge of after-sales services in the country and it intends to manufacture some of the heavy class Renault trucks domestically after three years. The annual production is projected at 3,000 and the 19-ton model, which is in high demand in Iran, is expected to comprise a large bulk of the assembled trucks...
