Hybrid - Sweden - Volvo introduces this technology for heavy-duty vehicles
GOTEBORG, Sweden -The Trucker (USA -10 Mar 2006: -- The Volvo Group has introduced hybrid technology for heavy-duty vehicles which they say offers fuel savings of up to 35 percent... The concept is designed to have maximum fuel-saving effects on routes with frequent braking and acceleration such as waste collection, city bus traffic and trucks with in-city distribution, said a Volvo news release... The hybrid concept is a designated I-SAM and uses a combined starter motor, drive motor and alternator along with an electronic control unit...
