Newington,NH,USA -Portsmouth Herald News (Portsmouth,NH), by By Lisa Tetrault-Zhe -28 Mar 2006: -- A letter that selectmen were supposed to send to the state in an effort to prevent contaminated soil from being returned to the Spaulding Turnpike median was never sent out, to the chagrin of two members of the town’s Conservation Commission... According to Cos Iocovozzi, the selectmen’s representative to the conservation commission, the letter was never signed and sent to the state because he needed more information... But the state stands behind its decision to move the soil back to the site it originally came from last November...
