SLACK supervision - China - Checks on cargo truck firms bare twin woes in safety
Beijing,China -Beijing Time, by Dong Zhen -10 Jan 2006: -- SLACK supervision of cargo truck drivers and the poor condition of their vehicles are the two main reasons for deadly road accidents in the city, police concluded yesterday after a sudden check on several cargo transport companies across town... Police said one of the serious problems was that many transport companies had almost no daily supervision over their drivers in terms of road safety knowledge training as well as punishments for frequent traffic violations... The transport companies were found to be particularly poor in supervising their short-term out-of-town drivers...
