Second Driver Sues Trucking Firm Over Obesity
PORTLAND, Ore,USA -DIROTV/AP -Dec 1, 2005: -- An obese truck driver is suing his Tacoma, Washington employer alleging he was unfairly suspended without pay because of his weight... David Mankey also accuses the company of keeping his case secret. This, while it unsuccessfully contested a similar lawsuit by trucker John McDuffy of Molalla... A Multnomah County jury ruled in October for McDuffy, awarding nine-thousand dollars in back pay -- and 100-thousand dollars in damages... Mankey is five-foot-six and about 450 pounds.
