Heavy goods vehicles will be able to use Austria’s A12 motorway again
UK -lgib.gov -Nov 2005: -- The European Court of Justice has ruled that regions which ban certain types of lorries must have sound environmental reasons or face having their restrictions lifted. The judgment came in the case of the Austrian region of Tyrol, which, in 2003, outlawed lorries weighing more than 7.5 tonnes and carrying waste, stone, soil or vehicles from using a 46 km stretch of motorway... The judges in the Luxembourg based court said that the ban had been “disproportionate.”...
