Production - India - Force Motors, MAN to form heavy trucks

PUNE,India -Economic Times -11 Nov 2005: -- Force Motors, the erstwhile Bajaj Tempo (BTL), is set to upgrade its technical agreement with MAN Commercial Vehicles Group into a joint venture (JV) to manufacture heavy trucks for the entire Asian region. The JV will categorically not look at exports to the European market... Force Motors declared it will roll out some products from the 16-50 tonne range of MAN heavy commercial vehicles from its Pithampur plant. It has already invested a part of the proposed Rs 550 crore in the new plant, the investment being spread over a period of 2-3 years. This was part of its over two-year old technical collaboration with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group, part of the e15bn MAN group, which has a presence in the commercial vehicles, industrial services, printing systems, diesel engines and turbomachines businesses...
