Inspections III - Canada - Curb truck related deaths: union
TORONTO,Ont,Canada -Canadian Press -Oct 07, 2005: -- The Ontario government is not doing enough to reduce truck-related deaths on the province's highways... The accusation is from the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which cites a Ministry of Transportation report that crashes involving large trucks killed 155 people in 2003... Joe Daniel, President of OPSEU Local 506, says there's been no downward trend in the number of people killed by large trucks over the last 10 years... He says this is not the time for Ontario to be cutting back on truck-safety enforcement, but adds that's exactly what is happening...
